I am Melissa Brissett. I am an author and motivational speaker who believes in educating an audience by providing quality literature that encourages growth, change, love, peace, and hope.
At a young age, I realized that dysfunctional relationships could have a severe impact on a person’s mental, physical, and emotional well- being. Unfortunately, mental health in the African American/Black/Caribbean community is deemed taboo. So in 2015, I created Meticulously Melissa and Royal Manor Publishing House – platforms used to encourage people to speak up by publishing their bodies of work.
I published my first book, From Broken Pieces to Master Peace in 2019 to shed light on ugly truths and encouraged people to open up about their pasts. Therapeutically, I believe that the first step to gaining peace of mind is by first acknowledging that there is a problem, and second, by speaking your truth.
I earned and bachelors degree in Business Management & Finance from Brooklyn College in New York, and a masters degree in Human Resources Management from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Through all this learning, my ultimate goal is to get individuals who are struggling, on a journey to peace.
